This is my New Yorker in Newport outfit. With an influx of Hollywood types in Newport (Woody Allen and Emma Stone to name a few) I felt inspired to bust out my best city girl style to mix things up a bit. And in the spirit of trying to share more of my beautiful hometown, Craig and I (and Nora) ventured over to one of my favorite spots on the island, The Redwood Library. The Redwood Library (founded in 1747) is the oldest lending library in America, and the oldest library building in continuous use in the country. My Great Aunt was a huge supporter of Redwood and I think of her every time I drive by, which is quite often. Though these photos don’t capture much of the building and the grounds, they give a sense of the history and beauty that surrounds Redwood. It’s truly a treasure and a must see if you’re in Newport. And back to my New Yorker in Newport outfit, I forgot about this boac mesh dress I got last summer so I was happy to take it for a spin. I know I’ve been wearing this Brahmin bag a lot (like every day) but when something’s good I tend to stick with it. It has tons of compartments, adds just the right amount of color to every outfit and it’s the perfect length to wear as a cross body or a shoulder bag. It’s available as part of the Nordstrom anniversary sale for under $150 which is basically insanity, but it’s only here until August 4th so make sure to check it out! AND, these metallic heels are finally on sale plus 30% off at French Connection, so there’s that! Btw, I should NOT be shopping, honestly I need to cut myself off, but the J.Crew sale is SOOOO good right, so not to tempt you or anything but you might wanna just take a peek.
