Happy Friday! We are back in RI for the weekend, and I am getting ready to launch my Newport Guide on Monday. I have shown it to a few people and the feedback so far has been great. I was talking to my friend Victoria about it (who also happens to be my web designer). I was having so much self doubt about the guide and if it’s something people would want. I do this thing where I put a ton of time, work, energy and thought into something and then right before I’m ready to share it with the world I convince myself it’s not that great and no one cares. As Victoria called it “the girl who thinks no one will show up at her party” syndrome. I couldn’t help but laugh because she’s right. I think I’ve been that girl my entire life (she is too which is why she could relate).

I’ve been really trying to work on that pattern of behavior but sometimes it creeps it’s way back in, particularly before big moments where I’m ready to share something that’s meaningful to me. Anyway I could write a much longer dissertation on this but I guess my point in sharing is to say, if you’ve ever had that feeling, you’re not alone. I can tell you in my 36 years of life, people come to the party, and if they don’t, great because I can go to bed early.

If you’re looking for something to buy, try, read, share or pin, we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of the week…

“For goodness’ sake, please let us not return to low-rise jeans.”

Speaking of jeans, this pair from Madewell are definitely not low-rise and are very comfy and stretchy. I went a size down.
