As some of you may know if you read my newsletter A Common Thread, this year I set out on a journey to buy nothing new. It was quite the undertaking when my entire career has been mostly based around the opposite. I wasn’t sure what, if any brands I’ve partnered with in the past would be open to that. Sézane, a brand I’ve worked with for years jumped on board. One of the reasons I love Sézane is because they have so many iconic pieces. A majority of the Sézane clothing in my wardrobe has been there for over 5 years.
With the exception of one maxi dress, everything in this post is something I’ve had from before I started this year of buying nothing new. As we’re heading into summer, I wanted to share some of my favorite Sézane clothing for early summer. These are versatile, great quality pieces that are on constant rotation in my wardrobe. I’m all about easy and comfortable, and these check off both boxes, along with being incredibly stylish.

Sézane Pieces For Early Summer
Maxi Dress
The fabiola dress is the one new piece I chose. I couldn’t resist a classic cotton maxi dress and it is everything I hoped for and more. With just a little bit of stretch it’s so comfortable and the front button is such a stylish detail. I love the versatility of black but the striped and red are great too. If your size is sold out you can sign up for restock alerts. The website says to size up in this dress but I got my true size and like the fit. Organic Cotton T-Shirt
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve recommended the Conrad t-shirt from Sézane. The ultimate basic cotton tee made with 100% organic cotton. I’ve had mine for years and it has been through so many washes and wears. Somehow it gets better with age. It’s also currently $10 off on the site.
Striped Sweater
I get compliments every time I wear this sweater. It’s a slightly cropped, oversized fit with a gold button detail. The fit is more voluminous with wide sleeves. A great knit for summer because it keeps you warm for chillier days or nights without being too hot.
Straight Leg Jeans
I love to wear white jeans in the summer. The Brut Sexy is organic cotton and just the right amount of stretch. I find that these hold their shape well and don’t get saggy as you wear them, but also have some give and don’t feel too stiff. These jeans are true to size. I went a size up in these because I didn’t want them to feel too tight.
Gatsby Mariniére
This organic cotton long sleeve tee has a button front and a thicker feel. A great layer for cooler weather it’s nice to bring along to the beach or drape it over your shoulders with a dress for a night out.
John Top
This cotton and linen tank is light, breezy and so comfortable. It has a relaxed fit that makes it particularly ideal for hot summer days. I like to size up in this because it does shrink if you put it in the dryer (definitely go for low heat).
Leather Sandals
The Adeline sandals are a classic strappy leather sandal for summer. They’re comfortable and chic, and I like that you can wear them casual or dressy. I think these fit fairly true to size. My shoe size is a 7/7.5 and the size 7 fit me well.
Max Shirt
I get so much wear out of this long sleeve button down. The light denim goes with everything and it’s really comfortable. An oversized fit, and a great layer over a t-shirt, tank, or dress. I also wear it with pants, jeans and shorts.
Paloma Tote
I’m always so happy when they bring back the Paloma tote because it is my favorite bag. Well made and perfect for summer because it’s big enough to carry everything you need and elevates any outfit.
