The first sign of a cool breeze and I’m piling on all the cozy layers. It actually seems like fall showed up on the earlier side this year (not complaining) so there have already been plenty of opportunities for sweaters and scarves. I picked up two new fall accessories from Selfridges that I know I’ll wear a ton, plus these versatile pieces, a knit maxi dress and cashmere turtleneck sweater, that are great for layering.
I’m a big fan of hats, especially in the fall, and I’ve been looking for a great wool fedora with some structure in a neutral color. I found this Lack of Color Zulu Rancher wool fedora hat from Selfridges and it’s perfection. The color is stunning and it also miraculously fits my tiny head (I’m wearing a small). I think a nice wool fedora hat just pulls together any look; jeans and sneakers, a dress and booties, a big cozy sweater with leggings and flats, you can’t go wrong. I’ve been eyeing the Acne scarves forever and ended up getting the Canada new scarf in grey and caramel. It’s big and cozy and both colors are so versatile. The grey matches this Chinti & Parker cashmere turtleneck sweater perfectly. I sized up to a medium in the sweater so I have plenty of room to grow into it (it already runs a bit oversized).
These suede hiking boots are from a brand that’s new to me, Grenson, and they are SO comfortable. They’re lightweight and the suede is really soft so they instantly mold to your feet. I’ve worn them a ton and get compliments every time I do. Last but not least dresses are still definitely my go-to most days and I love this knit maxi from Reformation because it’s super stretchy (wearing a small) and fitted so ideal for layering. The black makes it wearable with so many things and it can be dressed up or down. I’m ready for fall decorating and foliage.
