Spring is slowly creeping along here in Vermont. Trees and flowers will be blooming before we know it and I am SO ready for dress weather. Right now, I’m finding lots of style inspiration from years past. Today I’m rounding up some really pretty sustainable dresses for spring from floral maxis to comfy organic cotton midi dresses. We are going to California for a little bit to visit my brother, sister-in-law and their new baby, bring on the dress weather!
If you live somewhere that’s still cold, don’t be afraid to bust out your spring dresses and layer them up (see an example here). Even with base layers underneath and sweaters layered on top, it’s still so nice to bring out the spring colors and prints.
9 Sustainable and Ethical Dresses for Spring
One. Daughters of India Kyra Midi Dress
It’s not secret I am a huge fan of Daughters of India dresses. They are flowy, comfortable, great quality and so easy to wear. The Kyra midi is a great style for spring, especially if you’re not quite ready to show a lot of leg (I’ve barely touched my razor since September). Their prints and colors are limited run, so check back often if a color you want is sold out. If you’re looking for a longer style, the Jasmine maxi dress is another favorite.
Two. Sezane Pippa Dress
This beautiful maxi dress from Sezane is made from organic cotton. It’s a short sleeve floral print with round neckline and tie at the side. Comfortable and pretty, it comes in solid colors too including black and a gorgeous powdery blue. If you love this style they also make it in a shorter length which would be so great with sneakers and a denim jacket.
Three. Boden Sweetheart Linen Midi Dress
A semi fitted midi with sweetheart neckline and puff sleeves this is a chic, feminine dress for spring and summer in a classic style and shape. The dress comes in black, grey/blue and a print so there’s an option for every style. I love this for a spring/summer wedding.
Four. Floral Midi Tea Dress
The print, the color, the sweetheart neckline and puff sleeves, everything about this dress from FatFace says spring. Wear it with a denim jacket or cardigan for breezier days. Pair it with sandals or white sneakers in the summer. This is a great style for everyday wear.
Five. Doen Charleston Dress
I’m a huge fan of Doen dresses and the Doen Charleston dress is my favorite style. I wore it to my brother’s wedding this fall, and it’s one of my favorite styles for spring and summer. The long sleeves and deep v-neck give it a romantic and feminine vibe. It’s incredibly comfortable in an organic cotton viscose blend with a self tie waist for adjustability.
Six. Madewell Tie Back Cami Midi Dress
This tie back cami midi dress comes in the most gorgeous green. It’s a linen/Lenzing blend that’s flowy and gorgeous. This style is very versatile and could be worn casual with flat sandals or dressed up with a low heel.
Seven. Faherty Isha Dress Mini
Made in a super soft linen this mini dress from Faherty is breezy and light. I got the light pink stripe last year and wore it all summer. Wear this with sneakers or flat sandals for a casual look.
Eight. ABLE Monet Button Down Dress
This 100% cotton dress has a full button front and midi length. It’s incredibly comfortable (I just mine in the mail) and breezy for when the weather gets warmer. It comes in a light white/tan stripe or pistachio green. Use my code JAK15 for 15% off.
Nine. Pact Studio Athleisure Dress
I love Pact for certified organic cotton clothes that are also made in a Fair Trade certified factory, which means a sustainable and ethical supply chain. This fitted short athleisure style has a built-in bra and bike shorts making it super practical and comfortable. This is a great style for tennis and pickle ball!
