Hi friends. How was everyone’s week? Honestly this one flew by and blurred together and I woke up this morning wondering how it was already Friday. I’m exhausted (aren’t we all?) and overwhelmed (aren’t we all?) but also feel like I am finally getting into a decent groove/routine of being able to work more and also spend quality time with Marin. I have zero free time but I guess I’ll get that back when she goes to college? I actually have a lot of thoughts on that which eventually I’ll share because I’m guessing many of us struggle with this.
Anyhoo, tomorrow I turn 36, which in total honesty feels completely uneventful, and I’m not saying that in a disappointed way, just very matter of fact. I’ve had a lot of “omg you’re turning 36!”. Emphasis on the six part of the thirty, which is funny because it really doesn’t feel like a big deal to me. I stopped worrying about my age a long time ago, and quite frankly 36 sounds pretty young to me, especially when my 90 year old grandfather just went to the golf course and carried his own bag for several holes. Age is but a number. And I am definitely not feeling 22 as Taylor Swift would say, but I feel pretty good about 36 (my back might not agree but we’re working that out).
If you’re looking for something to buy, try, read, share or pin, we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best of the week…

Empathy burnout is a real thing! Required reading: how to care for yourself while supporting others.
Jess and I both were riveted by The Undoing. If you’ve finished the series you have to read this finale recap. DON’T read this if you haven’t finished the last episode yet. We will not be responsible for spoiling the ending for you. (C)
Speaking of The Undoing, this article makes an important point about how the show handles domestic violence and specifically violence against women.

A nice little Sephora holiday sale for Beauty Insiders (use code 2020Save to get up to $25 off a purchase of $75+)! I’ve been getting a lot of questions about Necessaire promo codes so this is a good opportunity to save on that and more of my faves. This post from their last sale has all my faves.
Craving this banana cake with coffee cream cheese frosting. (C)
Take a break from typing—turns out there are psychological benefits to writing by hand.
The holiday issue of Bon Appetit was guest edited by Marcus Samuelsson and it’s so fun. Dying to try these corn and crab beignets. (C)
Jess and I both independently acquired the same rhinestone headband and we’ve both realized that it makes any outfit, even sweatpants feel instantly fancy…or maybe this is a lie we’re telling ourselves. But then, this article popped up and totally validated our feelings. So, are headbands the new handbags? (C)

Wanted to share this deal again for anyone that missed it on IG. The small business Long Wharf Supply that recently launched sustainably made sweaters (made from recycled oyster shells, plastic bottles and lambswool) is doing 20% off three sweaters through the weekend. No code needed. In fact, I have the Rye in small and it’s perfectly oversized (shown in this photo and this video).
What we can learn from solitude.
Megababe gave me a code for JAK readers! Use code Jess15 for 15% off (one use per customer). It’s good until January 1. Order by 12/17 for holiday shipping. I love their deodorant, pit mask and hand sanitizer.
Always love seeing what Grace is reading! The list of books she read in November look good.
