Holiday Gift Guide for Expecting Moms, New Parents & Kids

This is probably my most crowd-sourced gift guide ever and I’m so glad I did because you guys had the best ideas! I got a lot of requests for this gift guide, but I wanted to make sure that what I included was practical and helpful. In addition to the ideas below, one of the most recommended gifts for new parents was a night out and some babysitting, so a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant and a few hours watching the little one(s) will go a long way.

Gift Ideas for Expecting Moms, New Parents and Kids

One. Zoe Organics Pregnancy Essentials Kit

Clean skincare products for the mom to be that smell great and are perfect for that itchy and dry pregnancy skin. This is a great little set that comes packaged in a nice box made of recycled paper. There’s a set for baby too with oil, bath wash and diaper balm.

Two. (AT HOME) pampering from glam squad or zeel

Any kind of pampering for an expecting or new mom is great, and with Glam Squad and Zeel they can do it from the comfort of their own home. Of course you can always get a gift certificate for treatments at a local spa, but a pre-natal massage at home sounds pretty nice too. Zeel is available in certain locations nationwide (you can type in the recipient’s zip code here to check) and offers in home massage services (including prenatal). It’s a great option if you need to purchase/deliver a gift online. Glam Squad is located in select cities and brings beauty services to your home, so you can have your mani/pedi come to you.

three. Soft cotton robe

I LOVE Lake Pajamas and their pima cotton robes are always one of my go to gifts for expecting moms. They’re incredibly soft and great quality. I like to order at least one size up for comfort. Pact also has a nice organic cotton robe as well as Coyuchi.

four. sound machine

This was a frequently suggested gift idea and also comes highly recommended from a bunch of friends with babies (I put it on my registry).

five. yeti coffee tumbler

This is such a smart gift idea as so many of you pointed out, because it keeps tea and coffee hot, even hours later, when you remember you made it. It will also keep cold liquids cold and it’s the perfect size for a cup holder. Dishwasher safe too.

six. meal delivery

Lots of new parents said this was the best gift they received whether it was meal delivery or groceries delivered to their door. Daily Harvest (use code KIRBY for $25 off your first order) and Green Chef were at the top of the list. Grocery delivery from Amazon Fresh was also a big hit.

seven. momstrology

A friend gave me this book early on in my pregnancy and I absolutely LOVE it. It has so much interesting information about astrological signs and how they relate to one another, specifically around the parent/child dynamic. It’s pretty amazing how spot on it is too.

eight. personalized baby book

I am a huge fan of Artifact Uprising and order from them often. We basically have several gallery walls in the house filled with prints using their maple gallery wall frame. This Baby Book is such a cute and thoughtful gift for new parents and it ships quickly. It also comes with a coupon code for a free set of Everyday Prints.

nine. monogrammed blanket

These cute blankets made from 100% organic cotton are a great price (also on sale right now) and can be monogrammed with baby’s initials. They’re also treated with environmentally safe dyes.

ten. loulou lolipop teether

I bought one of these to have and recently gave one as a gift. It looks so cute as a little topper on a gift box at a shower. It’s made from food grade silicone and organic olive oil & beeswax-conditioned beech wood. It’s also free of BPA, PVC, phthalates, lead and cadmium.

eleven. tickets to a local attraction or an activity

Give the gift of experience with things like a membership to the local children’s museum or aquarium, tickets to a show (if the child is old enough) or an activity like swimming or rock climbing lessons.

twelve. toy and magazine subscriptions

There were a lot of recommendations for Lovevery, particularly their play kits (they make it really easy to send as a gift). Their play products are designed by child development experts to be exactly what kids need at every stage. I also got their play gym which comes highly recommended and has tons of 5 star reviews. It was quite a throwback to see Highlights as a top recommendation (anyone else remember this from childhood)? Parents particularly love the magazine subscriptions for little ones.

thirteen. organic cotton set

It’s safe to say I am obsessed with Pehr. I discovered the brand through a friend and just love everything. All their bedding and clothing is made with 100% organic cotton, and they are actively working to reduce their footprint through sustainable manufacturing processes. This set is so cute for a newborn. They have the most adorable mobiles too.

fourteen. frida baby kit

Everything a new mom needs for healthcare and grooming with a newborn. From clipping nails to clearing snotty noses it’s all baby friendly with clear instructions on how to use them. It also comes with a carrying kit for travel. Frida Mom also makes a hospital delivery and postpartum care kit for new moms and it comes highly rated.

fifteen. wooden toys

I heard from a lot of moms that “don’t want another plastic toy” and I get that! Timeless wooden toys like this puzzle are made with safe materials (free from BPA Free, Phthalates, Lead, and PVCs) and are built to last.

sixteen. classic CHILDREN’S books

One of my favorite gifts to give new moms is a collection of classic children’s books like The Giving Tree, Goodnight Moon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and for the holidays is there anything better than the Polar Express? You can personalize it with a special message inside the book. *** I always like to mention when I link to books online, if you happen to have a local book store nearby it’s always a great time to support a small business during the holidays!***

For sure this guide was extremely helpful! I’m not a mom yet but I do know a few mom-to-be and had no idea what to get them but I wanted it to be thoughtful!
