Every year I get the same request for this gift guide, gift ideas for guys that aren’t too hipster (no whiskey glasses or make your own beer kits allowed). Honestly guys can be SO hard to shop for, I still haven’t figured out what I’m getting my brothers, but I think this list is a good start. I also asked Craig for some recommendations so his picks have a star next to them.
Holiday Gift Ideas for Him
one. Patagonia down sweater jacket (use code jess15 for 15% off)
I got this coat for Craig a few seasons ago and he has put it through the ringer but it’s still one of his favorites that he wears regularly. He also has the Nano Puff which is slightly lighter but really good for travel and he still wears it in the winter with other layers.
two. ursa major travel skincare set (currently 20% off)
Clean skincare brand Ursa Major actually started out as a men’s skincare line, so while this set is not specifically for men, I think their products are generally great for guys. If you want to try and introduce some clean products to any of the men in your life this is a great start. I got a bunch of products for my Dad and brothers last year.
three. yeti backpack cooler (use code jess15 for 15% off)
This yeti backpack cooler makes picnics, BBQs, camping and beach days so much easier.
four. bose quiet comfort wireless noise cancelling headphones
A splurge for headphones, yes, but man are they worth it. Craig basically lives in his headphones, when he’s working, doing projects around the house, walking the dogs early in the morning and ALWAYS when we travel. Seriously after you travel with these headphones you will never want to go without them again. Having these on the plane is an absolute game changer.
five, six and seven. team beanies
If you’ve got a sports fan on your list, team gear is always a great affordable gift idea. Beanies are great for the winter months too.
eight. camelbak (currently on sale)
If you have a brother, boyfriend, husband, dad, etc that is into mountain biking this lightweight camelbak is an awesome gift. It’s also be great for hiking.
nine. sustainable joggers
I love this company for their sustainability, Craig loves their clothing for the quality and fit. I ended up getting him these joggers in green and black because he basically lives in them on the weekend. They’re made from 100% organic cotton and the quality far surpasses other brands I’ve purchased for him at twice the price. Craig is 6’3″ and a size large.
ten. fitbit versa 2
Fitbit sent us the Versa 2 to try (no strings attached) and we love them. Craig is and has never been a watch guy so I’m still kind of in shock he wears his everyday but he hasn’t taken it off. It has a super long battery life, tons of health and fitness features, GPS tracking capability (great for hikers/mountain bikers/dirt biking), it can store music, you can check the weather and more.
eleven. irobot roomba
This is one of those gifts that works for everyone. In fact he doesn’t know it but this is what I am getting Craig for Christmas (don’t worry he definitely doesn’t read the blog, haha). Don’t get me wrong we LOVE our Bissell IconPet but especially with a kid on the way it will be nice to have backup, with two dogs and a cat, the hair is endless. I’ve spent way too much time researching these things and the IRobot 960 seems to be the best bang for your buck.
twelve. everlane heavyweight overshirt
For someone that pretty much never actually shops for his own clothes, Craig is quite particular about what he likes. I wanted to see how the men’s stuff from Everlane was and I’m happy to report this heavyweight cotton button down is a winner. It’s super soft, washes well, and looks great. Craig is 6″3″ and a size large. He told me last night I should also add this L.L. Bean fleece lined shirt to the guide. I got him one a few years ago and it’s still a favorite. If you want to test the durability of anything, give it to Craig.
thirteen. Adidas 3MC Shoe (USE CODE JESS15 FOR 15% OFF YOUR ORDER)
This wasn’t what I was expecting when I asked Craig for a shoe or boot recommendation for the guide, but here we are. He said these last longer and are more comfortable than vans and they come in a ton of color options. He also recommended these Adidas Hiker Boots which are more like a sneaker but he’s been living in them for biking, dog walks, and even as work boots. Unfortunately if your guy has big feet they don’t carry 12.5, Craig sized up to a 13 though and he said they work fine.
fourteen. national park socks
Socks are one of those gifts that might be kind of lame (if I’m being honest) but they don’t have to be. I always get them for Craig because it’s something he needs, but especially for the holidays I look for fun ones. I love these National Park socks by Pendleton and they have great reviews.
fifteen. concert or game tickets
There’s nothing better than a gift that creates memories. It doesn’t get much better than tickets to a concert or their favorite sports team. I’ve also given Craig lift tickets to a mountain for Christmas which is always a big hit. Liftopia actually has some great deals for that.
