BARBOUR BEADNELL JACKET / BOYFRIEND JEANS / KITTEN HEELS c/o / TOTE / STRIPE BUTTON DOWN / SWEATER c/o
Kitten heels are easily one of spring’s most wearable shoe trends. No matter how hard I try, rarely do I wear anything over three inches, I just look ridiculous teetering around in high heels trying not to fall. Particularly in Newport where lots of the streets are cobblestone or uneven bricks, walking around in stiletto heels is just not practical. Kitten heels are the perfect height and style because you can easily walk around in them without fear of falling flat on your face or walking with a limp after an hour because your feet are killing you. So how to wear kitten heels without looking frumpy or too buttoned up, put away the pencil skirt and try them with distressed jeans like I did here for a Sunday walk and lunch downtown. I rolled them a bit to show off some ankle which elongates the leg. It was a little gray and drizzly so I wore my Barbour jacket to stay warm and dry, but for warmer days I’d go with a striped button down or a comfy vintage tee. There are tons of affordable options right now, some of my faves below. What do you think? Anyone else loving the kitten heel trends?
