I like those rooms very much, but I prefer cream colored walls, and stone, or brick fireplaces.

Such great updates!! I love the fireplace- so clean and fresh, but still with some warmth, and the couch changes. The first redo was light years from what you started with- so cool to see the original before. However, I really prefer this new iteration- it feels really nice. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much Julia. It’s funny I don’t even remember what is used to look like so seeing that first before photo is always a nice little reminder of everything we’ve done in here!

The whole update is fabulous, and I LOVE this iteration of your space, but can I just say? That is one of my favorite bird guides on the marble side table.

Thanks Meg! OMG that bird book is the best. I got it for Craig as a Christmas gift and he loves it. So fun to look through and figure out all the birds around us.

Well done Jess! I absolutely love how light and bright your whole room is. That wood mantle with the the 300 year old reclaimed wood is stunning! You guys did a fabulous job. I can’t believe how clean you keep your place, especially with your 4-legged babies. It’s immaculate! Superb job! I can’t wait for your mud room reveal! Thanks for sharing!

bravo! you re-did the space beautifully and i love the attention to detail – the pillows, samsung tv, and of course the aged fireplace mantle are my favorite details. the fireplace truly anchors everything together. love your look – it reminds me of coastal meets boho meets rustic. such an eclectic combo.

My dog likes to “dig.” He goes to his bed, our bed, or our couch, plants his bag legs, and goes crazy with his front legs. It’s very cute, but because of this, we’re hesitant to get a leather couch. You said this couch has held up well, but do your dogs do anything like that to them?

    1. Jess

Yeah my dogs don’t do that and that would definitely scratch up the leather.

I am obsessed with your wood floors! It looks like you refinished the existing floors – what stain did you use?
Also congratulations on your pregnancy – I hope it’s a blissful time you!
