Happy to be finally be sharing the progress we’ve made so far on our living room. We still have a little ways to go but right now it’s my favorite room in the house.
Craig and I have very similar decorating tastes which is awesome because we almost never disagree on how we want a room to look. He’s definitely better at visualizing and implementing where things should be in a room so I tend to let him take the lead on that and I focus on things like pillows and throw blankets (because let’s be honest, he’s really not worried about it).
I usually shop at the same places for home decor which is Lulu & Georgia, Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, Wayfair and thrift stores. Some of my favorite things are from consignment or trash day (the antique side table was free on the side of the road).
What I like about our new space is that we were able to start fresh so my goal was to keep our living room as minimal as possible while still feeling cozy. And, we added plants! The tree and gardenia bush are pretty new so fingers crossed they stay this healthy, I’m pretty much the worst at keeping things alive.
I recently discovered Minted and it is one of my favorite places to shop for artwork. All of the photos we have were taken by Craig (you can shop his prints here) but I picked up some beautiful prints by artists through Minted. Minted is an online design marketplace with a global community of independent artists. You can learn more about them here.

For accent pillows I went to Lulu & Georgia and got these stunning pillows (just so happens they are both the Pantone Color of the Year- Rose Quartz and Serenity). I think they add such a nice calming touch to the room.
I also got this pretty light blue throw blanket to tie in all the light blue pops of color. As you can see it’s Nora’s favorite room too. The natural light is so beautiful all day.
The prints above are photos taken by Craig and the painting was a gift from my cousins for my birthday, I know great gift! Another detail I love are the old furnaces throughout the house (which are working). They kick off some serious heat but I love the charm they add. This fur pillow is one of my favorites in the room. It’s a nice touch of texture.
I absolutely love this vase from Lulu & Georgia. I bought it in two sizes, the larger one is in my kitchen. It looks so pretty with white roses or Hydrangeas but I can’t wait to get my hands on some peonies.
I kept our coffee table pretty minimal with a mirrored tray from Pottery Barn along with a few little things I like to keep out (my mermaid/surf wax perfume, a tray that was a gift, a candle and my Paris Street Style book my grandmother gave me).
This little corner (below) is still up in the air. I really like the tree there but I know it needs something extra, just not sure what yet. I absolutely LOVE the two prints though, one is a print of an oil painting of a wave and the other is a print of a watercolor of an icey lake. Both are limited edition prints by artists available through Minted.

The print all the way to the right is of a watercolor painting.
Nora moves around the room all day following the sunlight coming through the windows. Usually Hunter is nearby too, not sure where he was when I took these photos but as you can see it’s pretty obvious why everyone loves this room. The bright natural sunlight makes it inviting and cozy all day long.
