I started really paying attention to the ingredients in the beauty products I was using about 5 years ago. Since then so much of the beauty industry has changed, including the term “clean beauty.” One thing I realized as I learned more about the beauty industry and the ingredients in skincare and makeup, is that it seriously lacks regulations. There’s little oversight and terms like clean beauty mean little when there’s no standard definition or requirement across the industry. That said, I have found brands I love, that prioritize safe ingredients, and focus on sustainability as a part of their business. Saie Beauty is truly a model brand in the beauty industry not only because of their incredible products, but also their approach to sustainability, and as a voice for women on important issues including reproductive freedom.
I eagerly anticipated Saie Beauty’s launched because I had followed the founder Laney long before she launched Saie. I was super excited to try the brand and I’ve been a huge fan ever since. They have a wide variety of beauty products (it started small they’ve added so many amazing new products since their launch). I’ve tried many of their products, so today I’m rounding up my favorites and sharing reviews of the Saie Beauty products I recommend.
Saie Beauty Review
What Is Saie Beauty?
Saie Beauty launched in 2019 founded by Laney Crowell who had been in the beauty industry working at brands including Lucky and Estee Lauder. Saie launched with a handful of products and has since expanded into multiple makeup categories. The brand’s mission was to create beauty products with high-performance formulas, sustainable packaging and practices, and clean ingredients. Saie is also 100% cruelty-free, leaping bunny certified and all products are gluten free. Since trying Saie Beauty when they first launched in 2019 I’ve grown to love so many of their products and I’m breaking down my must haves below.
Saie Beauty Products (What I’ve Tested + My Favorites)
saie beauty GLOWY SUPER GEL
If you’re looking for the ultimate lit from within glow, this is it. Saie Glowy Super Gel is my absolute favorite year round beauty product and a staple in my makeup routine. Use it as a primer, mix it in with your foundation or tinted moisturizer or add some over your makeup as a highlight, there’s no wrong way to wear Glowy Super Gel. It’s the ultimate dewy, glowy finish without being too shiny.
I really like both shades, Starglow and Sunglow. Starglow is more of a champagne while Sunglow has a bit of bronze tint. I use Starglow during the fall and winter and Sunglow in the summer.
Pros
- Lightweight
- Hydrating
- Brightening with Papaya and Vitamin C
- Universal shades for any skin tones
Cons
None
Saie Beauty Concealer
I was really excited to try Saie’s Hydrabeam concealer, because the reviews were very enthusiastic. I am here to say this one definitely lives up to the hype. It’s a super hydrating sheer concealer that has just the right amount of coverage in a lightweight formula. Admittedly I don’t wear concealer everyday but when I want some extra coverage this is my go to. It stays on all day but also feels light, doesn’t get cakey or creased and washes off easily. It comes in 9 shades (I wear HB TWO).
pros
- Brightening
- Hydrating
- Moisturizing
- Doesn’t crease
cons
None
Saie Beauty Sunscreen
Saie’s mineral sunscreen, Sunvisor, feels like a great skincare product and SPF in one. It gives skin a dewy glow with a sheer finish. It has active levels of encapsulated Vitamin C and nourishing ingredients like aloe and hyaluronic acid. Sunvisor has SPF 35 protection. I wear it every day on top of my daily moisturizer.
pros
- Non-toxic mineral sunscreen protection
- Sheer (no white cast)
- Soothing with aloe
- Hydrating with hyaluronic acid
cons
None
SAIE beauty tinted moisturizer (SLIP TINT)
You can read a full review I wrote on Slip Tint here. It comes as no surprise that Slip Tint has thousands of 5 star reviews and multiple beauty awards. It’s a great balance of dewy, natural looking coverage with SPF protection. It’s sheer to medium coverage, very hydrating and feels lightweight on the skin. It’s also 100% mineral sunscreen which means great SPF 35 protection. Slip Tint comes in 14 shades (I wear shades 3 and 3.5).
Pros
- 100% mineral sunscreen
- Hydrating with hyaluronic acid
- Easy to apply
- Feels weightless on the skin
Cons
None
Saie Beauty Bronzer
Seriously the best bronzer I’ve ever used, Saie Sun Melt Cream Bronzer is a lightweight, creamy balm bronzer with a natural finish. As someone who typically avoided bronzer because I could never apply it properly, this one is fool proof. It melts into skin for a gorgeous sun kissed glow that feels weightless on the skin. It’s formulated with skin nourishing ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, jojoba esters and grape seed oil. Sun Melt is available in four shades ranging from Light Bronze to Dark Bronze (I wear light bronze). I like to apply Sun Melt with Saie Beauty’s Big Brush (see a video here).
pros
- Mess free packaging
- Easy to apply
- Feels weightless on the skin
cons
None
Saie beauty Airset
I’m not much of a powder person so I was pretty skeptical about trying Saie’s Airset Setting Powder. My everyday makeup routine is about as minimal as possible, but I was blown away by the results from Airset. It feels completely weightless on the skin and is actually very easy to apply. It still has a radiant finish but gets rid of any excess shine. As someone with dry skin I try to avoid powder but Airset isn’t cakey or dry. You can apply this all over or specific areas to target shine.
pros
- Ethically source mica
- Hydrating formula with Squalane
- Weightless finish
cons
None
Saie Beauty Blush
I’ve tested several of Saie’s Dew Blush shades (it currently comes in 6 different colors). I like the creamy consistency of Dew Blush and how it melts into my skin when applied. It’s best when blended with a brush and a little goes a long way as the shades are very pigmented. For a natural looking flush I’ve found Peachy to be the best color for my skin tone. The other colors are a bit too bright for me.
pros
- Feels lightweight on the skin
- Water-based moisturizing formula
cons
- Some shades are very pigmented making it hard to get subtle color
Saie Beauty Mascara
Saie’s Mascara 101 was one of the first products I tested from the brand. It’s a really nice formula that doesn’t irritate my eyes and is also easy to wash off. It doesn’t run or smudge throughout the day and lashes feel conditioned not dried out or stiff. The applicator is really nice and good at separating lashes. It’s a great lengthening mascara. I call this a good everyday mascara. It’s not going to give dramatic length or volume but if you’re going for a natural pop, this is great.
pros
- Lengthens and conditions lashes
- Washes off easily
- Good applicator wand
cons
- Good at lengthening but not volumizing
Saie Beauty Brow Butter
Saie’s Brow Butter is an oil based pomade with a mini spoolie brush for grooming and taming brows. The formula is conditioning and hydrating and it comes in four shades including a clear. I think this formula is great for shaping brows and adding some definition but as someone who likes to fill in my brows, I need to use a pencil before. If you’re looking for a very easy, low maintenance brow grooming product this is it. If you prefer a fuller brow look, I like MERIT Brow 1980.
pros
- Easy to use, great for taming.
- Conditioning formula
cons
- Doesn’t add volume or fullness to brows
Saie Beauty Dew Balm
Saie’s Dew Balm is their version of a dewy highlighter. It comes in 3 shades including lilac, rosy gold, and bronze nectar. I’ve tried Dew Balm in all 3 shades but haven’t used it enough to say it’s in my regular makeup routine. It’s a thick formula so a little product goes a long way. My favorite shade is the bronze nectar. I’ve used it on my eyes but find that over time it runs so in my experience it’s best applied to cheeks.
pros
- Gives a natural glowy finish
- Sheer colors make it easy to apply
cons
- Packaging can be hard to use
- Not ideal for use on eyes
Where To Buy Saie Beauty
Saie Beauty
Saie’s online store is the best place to buy Saie products. It’s where you’ll find their full range of products, any limited edition or special releases. Saie offers free shipping on all orders over $30 in the contiguous USA. If you open the product, Saie offers a 50% refund along with a 25% discount toward your next order within 30 days of purchasing. For unopened products Saie says to contact their customer service. Sephora typically has Saie’s full product range in stock. They also occasionally have limited edition products and holiday kits.
