I’m not sure how I haven’t written about the best hair detangling brush ever on the blog yet, but today is that day. I discovered the Hair Edit Detangle & Massage Brush two winters ago and I’ve never looked back. At the time my postpartum hair was an absolute mess; dry, tangled, falling out and driving me crazy. Then I found this brush and everything changed. But now I also have a toddler with curly hair (who hates having her hair brushed) and I’m here to tell you, there’s no better combo than the one I’m sharing today.

Let’s talk about the brush. I’ve tried plenty of hair brushes. I’ve used a Wet Brush (it’s ok, until you’ve tried this one). And I’ve used a Mason Pearson (it’s fine, but $75?!). Nothing compares to the detangle and massage brush.
First, it’s lightweight. It’s easy to hold and amazing for travel because it’s light as a feather. So light in fact, that your toddler can definitely use it to brush their own hair. It’s also soft and ergonomic, comfortable to hold and somehow molds to the shape of your head, so it feels like an actual massage when brushing your hair. Which leads me to the bristles that are super flexible and gentle. It brushes through wet OR dry hair no problem.
Whether you have curly hair, straight hair, fine or thick hair, it’s great for all hair types. Do you dread brushing your kids hair? Because this thing will glide through those knots like you wouldn’t believe. The other day Marin had knots in the back of her head that were so bad I was convinced I’d have to cut them out or leave them there until the end of time. I used an absurd amount of conditioner and they didn’t budge. I decided to bust out my trusty brush and my hair detangler spray as a last ditch effort. Low and behold with a few spritzes and swipes of the brush the knots were gone. And no tears were shed in the process. Now on to the spray…
Rahua Hydration Detangler + UV Barrier
I’ve been using the Rahua Hydration Detangler + UV Barrier Spray for several years now, but mostly as a heat and color protectant. I spray it on after I get out of the shower and most of the time let my hair air dry. It wasn’t until I used it recently on my toddler’s very curly hair that I realized how good it is as a hair detangler.
It’s good for all hair types and even spraying it generously on my toddler’s curly but very soft, fine hair didn’t weigh it down. This one is definitely better if used on wet/damp hair. It’s best to spray it on right after getting out of the shower. If you’re a swimmer or spending the day at a pool or beach, spray it on your hair beforehand to protect it from sun rays, chlorine or salt water.
