A few weeks ago Craig and I took a trip to Northern Connecticut for a tour of some fun places to visit around the Northeastern part of the State. Our first stop was Brownstone Park, a waterpark featuring Swimming, Wakeboarding, Cliff Jumping, Zip Lines, Rock Climbing, Land-based Obstacle Courses & Kayaking. So basically something for everyone!

Next up we headed to Taylor Brooke Winery in Woodstock, CT. The winery features over 7,500 vines and takes great care in producing quality wines on a local farm. The owners, Richard and Linda Auger were so generous with their time, giving us an in depth tour of the vineyard and treating us to a tasting in their tasting room.
Of course Craig and I fell in love with one of their winery dogs, Addison. We took home a bottle of the Woodstock Hill White and Wine Dog 1, which the owners donate $1 per bottle sold, to the Worcester Animal Rescue League in Worcester, MA.
The scenery on the drive from Taylor Brooke to the Inn at Woodstock Hill was so beautiful from beautiful old barns to cattle grazing in the fields.
We absolutely fell in LOVE with the Inn at Woodstock Hill. From the wonderful staff to the quaint decor and unbelievable grounds it is a hidden gem. The Inn’s main house was originally constructed in 1816 by John Truesdell for William Bowen. The Inn is listed on the National Register of Historical Places and is certified as a Connecticut Green Lodging Facility.
Loved the decor in our room. Below, pre-dinner selfie. Why are we so serious?
We ended up being late for dinner (sorry!) because we could not stop exploring the gardens on the property. The dahlias were absolutely out of this world.

Before we left we made a quick stop at Roseland Cottage on our way out of town. The gothic revival style home was built in 1846. The grounds and gardens are absolutely beautiful. We had so much fun exploring Northeastern, CT. It’s nice to take an adventure so close to home! For more information about things to do and places to see in Connecticut visit their website here.
