If you find yourself in Woodstock you have to visit local favorite Worthy Kitchen. Boasting a huge selection of craft beers and farm to table menu items Worthy features american cuisine with everything from locally sourced roasted vegetables to VT beef burgers and the most amazing mac n’ cheese. Make sure you try the Worthy Donuts too. They also have a kid friendly menu and an assortment of seating including large tables, a bar and booths. During the warmer months there’s also lots of outdoor seating. Reservations are recommended. Worthy Kitchen is conveniently located right as you enter town.

Santé

A new addition to the village of Woodstock, Santé is a must visit while in town. Featuring small plates with local ingredients along with hand crafted cocktails (the raspberry margarita is so good). The menu changes seasonally so your always going to get the freshest and tastiest options. A great place for a date night or stop in for lunch. The menu is small but everything on it is absolutely delicious.

Au Comptoir

Another welcome new addition to the restaurant scene, Au Comptoir is an absolute beautifully designed cocktail bar in the village. The space is stunning featuring gorgeous materials with wood, stucco and marble details. Their unique menu of original cocktails using the freshest seasonal ingredients, an organic wine list and a delicious selection of snacks makes it a must stop on your Woodstock visit.

Mangalitsa

(Currently closed for renovations) Mangalitsa was one of the places that sold me on Woodstock when we first visited several years ago. It’s locally sourced fine dining with incredible food and phenomenal service. They focus on small plates and homemade pastas and their cocktail menu has lots of tasty and creative options. Mangalitsa is a must when you are in Woodstock. Reservations required.

Ransom Tavern (at Kedron Valley Inn)

Don’t miss out on a meal at Ransom Tavern in South Woodstock. Located inside the absolutely beautiful Kedron Valley Inn, Ransom Tavern is an amazing dining experience serving authentic Italian fare and incredible craft cocktails. Try one of their wood-fired pizzas paired with locally brewed beer and start with a platter of local Vermont cheese. They have vegan pizza options too. The bar and dining room are beautiful. During the warmer months sit outside on their deck and enjoy beautiful views of historic South Woodstock.

Village Butcher

In the heart of the village conveniently located next to Gillinghams General Store and within walking distance to the covered bridge, The Village Butcher is a fabulous deli and bakery with an incredible selection of meats, wine and cheese. Their sandwich menu does not disappoint, if you’re vegetarian I highly recommend the Veggie Delight (add pickles and hot peppers!). You can also build your own sandwich with a variety of options including house-made roast beef. They have outdoor tables to sit and enjoy a casual lunch or take your sandwiches and walk to East End Park for lunch on the river.

Cloudland Farm

A unique farm to table experience in Woodstock, VT, Cloudland Farm offers an on farm dining experience with ingredients grown at Cloudland Farm and other local organic farms. It’s BYOB and reservations required so be sure to plan ahead. The menu is a 3-course pre-fixe that changes daily. The Appalachian Trail also runs through the farm property and is open to hikers.

The Prince & The Pauper

The Prince & The Pauper is an exceptional dining experience located in the heart of Woodstock Village. A great spot for a cozy or romantic meal, the restaurant serves a 3 course prix fixe meal, however menu items are also available a la carte. They also have an extensive cocktail list including many “made in Vermont” drinks. Reservations are required for the dining room and the bar.

The Mill at Simon Pearce

It’s no surprise The Mill at Simon Pearce was named one of America’s “Most Romantic Restaurants” by Travel & Leisure. The dining room at the Mill is a beautiful space overlooking the Ottaquechee River waterfall and covered bridge. It’s actually in Quechee which is a short drive from Woodstock but very much worth the trip. The menu is full of locally sourced ingredients and farm to table dishes. Reservations are required for the dining room. The bar is open evenings and does not require a reservation. A great spot to grab a cocktail and small bites. When you’re done eating peruse through their incredible flagship store and watch their glassblowing workshop in action.

Red Rooster

The Red Rooster is located inside the beautiful and historic Woodstock Inn. Get a seat at the bar to enjoy craft cocktails or enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in their dining room. Dishes feature locally sourced ingredients and a variety of Vermont specialties. No reservation required for breakfast, however they are required for lunch and dinner. If you are not staying at the Inn you can check the day of for availability (no advanced reservations unless you’re a guest at the Inn).

Mon Vert Cafe

If you’re looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch check out Mon Vert Cafe. Focusing on locally sourced and organic ingredients their menu features everything from french toast and breakfast burritos to fresh sandwiches, salads and wraps. They also serve up delicious coffee drinks, the maple latte is a fan favorite, along with a selection of baked goods. Cozy up at a table or enjoy their outdoor seating on a sunny day.

Abracadabra

One of Woodstock locals favorite place to get caffeinated. Abracadabra serves up signature coffee drinks, house made waffles and oat milk creemees out of their ’64 shasta trailer. Abracadabra is open every day. There’s plenty of outdoor seating with fire pits to keep you warm in the colder months. Also conveniently located on the way to Barnard and Silver Lake, so you can take your coffee and enjoy the views.

Long Trail Pub & Brewery

Long Trail Brewing Company paved the way for craft beer in Vermont, brewing its first batch back in 1989. Since then, Long Trail Ale has become one New England’s favorite beers and the Pub & Restaurant located in Bridgewater just outside Woodstock has become a popular destination for skiers, bikers and hikers. What is better after a day outdoors than a freshly brewed beer and some fantastic pub fare? They have fun sugar sheds that are heated and can seat up to 8 people (reservation required). They are also dog friendly in their outdoor beer garden. Long Trails wings, fried pickles and hummus platter are some of our favorites!

Ramunto’s Brick & Brew Pizza

If you’re craving a delicious slice head to Ramunto’s Brick & Brew Pizza in Bridgewater. Just beyond the Woodstock town line, Ramunto’s is a short drive from the village. Their NY style pizza is delicious and the greek salad is a must. Ramunto’s has an extensive beer list and an arcade for family friendly fun. Reservations are not required but recommended.
