June has flown by and we’ve really been trying to soak up the good stuff. Jess and I were recently chatting about some of our favorite things lately and thought it would be fun to share them with you too!
It’s nice to think about some of the joyful things in your life, especially when life can feel overwhelming, hectic, etc. We’ve had SO much rain here in Vermont but the sun is starting to shine and we are ready to enjoy some summer weather. We’d love to hear what’s making you happy at the moment too! Let us know in the comments.
10 Things We Loved In June
Jess’s 5 Things

Summer salads
There’s just something about a summer salad. Now that the Market On The Green is up and running again in Woodstock I love going to get fresh lettuce, fruits and veggies. I can’t wait until we have a veggie garden to grow our own. This one I made the other day had fresh sliced strawberries, avocado, sliced almonds, and goat cheese with this homemade dressing that could not be easier to make.
gardening
Speaking of gardens, after saying we would definitely not do any landscaping this summer in Vermont we started multiple landscape projects because we love to have multiple unfinished projects going at once (sarcasm). All joking aside, it needed to be done and Craig went full on starting the front landscaping and a back patio. We are planting a perennial garden in the front. And I’ve been finding lots of inspiration on Pinterest. Our main goal though, is EASY and LOW MAINTENANCE. I think we’ve learned a lot from all the gardening and planting we did at the RI house. We’re putting plants in the ground here soon and I will share our process!
innersense shampoo and conditioner
My hair was a bit of a wreck at the end of this winter. Dry and brittle and my scalp was so sensitive it seemed like nothing helped, until I went back to an old favorite, Innersense. My scalp has never felt better and my hair is shiny and so healthy. We have hard water which takes a toll on my hair and scalp. And this stuff is just so soothing. 11/10 recommend and it’s currently 20% off at Credo!
happy place
I’m just about to finish this rom-com which is the perfect beach read! I read a ton of books in the beginning of the year and then lost steam. So I wanted a light fun book to get back into it and this was just what I needed. It was a little angsty at moments but it’s a nice mix of friendship, romance, love and grief.
organic sheets
I got some new organic sheets from Pact for the guest bedroom in RI and then decided to order them for our bedroom in Vermont because they’re just so comfy. The percale sheet set is super soft but also crisp and cool, perfect for hot sleepers or those sticky summer nights when you don’t have air conditioning. I love getting into a cozy bed with fresh sheets, just the best!
Kelley’s 5 Things
Water Bottle
The Bink Mama Bottle has become my new best friend. 18 weeks pregnant with constant headaches and I cannot drink enough water. But this Bink bottle is magic. I swear it has be drinking more water than I have in my entire life! Bonus, there is a subtle little water intake tracker on the side that helps you stay on track with your daily water goals. You will not regret purchasing this beautiful bottle and don’t for the straw and cap, sold separately!
Romantic Comedy
Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld was just what I needed to start off my summer of reading right. I loved Sittenfeld’s witty writing, unpredictable love story and all the SNL references and intel. This was exactly the rom-com I was looking for. After breezing through quite a few over the last few months I was beginning to feel burnt out. But this one was refreshing and fun. It would make a great beach read this summer!
No Hard Feelings
My husband and I just saw the new Jennifer Lawrence movie, No Hard Feelings on our anniversary date and it was so fun. I can’t say I’ve seen a great raunchy rom-com in a long time and this one was perfect. Once you get past the semi-creepy premise, you can appreciate the well-done casting and Jennifer Lawrence in all her hilarity. We thought it was incredibly humorous, although we found ourselves amongst a bunch of teens in the theater who didn’t quite get the millennial references. This made for a really fun date night.
Banana Zucchini Bread
I made this Banana Zucchini Bread from the Healthy Maven earlier this month and am about to make it for a 2nd time. With summer in full force, I’ve been looking for some seasonal recipes that are low sugar, healthy and make for a great breakfast or snack. It’s also gluten-free! Everyone in my family loved this and it was gobbled up in a just a few days. Excited for round two.
Taylor Swift Yoga Playlist
I taught a week of Taylor Swift inspired yoga earlier this month and made an epic playlist to flow to in all of my classes. I have been listening to this playlist on repeat! It has a little bit of something from each of her albums with a overall chill and fun vibe. Listen here!
